Did you know you are a stereotype?

For quite sometime, I haven't blogged, forgive my tight schedule. But sometime just happened yesterday that I think has portrayed the stereotype syndrome deeply rooted in us Kenyans. I have always seen tribalism as an end in itself, better put, tribalism is just a by product of stereotype perception. The real product to me is a primitive cross cutting perspective on how we handle matters of national importance.
Just some few weeks ago an urgly incident happened in migori county. It was an urgly incident because it did not just disrespect Uhuru Kenyatta but also the presidential institution. As a matter my disappointment were made worse by the social media outburst that condemned the entire migori community instead of condemning the urgly character. We all played the all righteous and the ever sober self with out regard to our self discovery. One thing I know about you who is reading this post, is that ideologically, politically or even religious you are a stereo type, some would choose to call it conservative.
It is a disease if not an epidermic that is eating down our social fabric. Stereotype is a biased opinion, it is an insensitive phenomena when dealing with issue. It is the syndrome of seing the good and whitewashing the bad. It is the disease of seing the bad and whitewashing the good. Better put, stereotypes have got a narrow prism from which they can pursue issue. Stereotypes in nature do not empathize with the other party, neither do they have the good will. It is a mental deficiency that can explain why some judge people using their community background. I know the fast thing you did when you visited this blog you looked at my sir name and said this imbecile is a cord mouthpiece. Am a proud Kenyan and am will not allow myself be relegated to a tribal charlatan.
A little bit of that, a friend of mine who condemned the heckling of the president was overwhelmed with joy when they learned the whipping of raila odinga. I can't explain why it was so but I guess it is because raila isn't his/ her favorite. The pain that the president and the entire nation got from that heckling in migori cannot be worse than the pain raila got and those who adore him. Both of them are outstanding leaders with great political influence. If we are true to ourselves then the way we treat one leader must be the same way we should treat another, our political differences notwithstanding. Do to others what you would like them to unto you. If you expect the rest of the people to respect the leader of your choice, then it would only be prudent if you can emulate the Same. If you expect people to love you, then must you give that love.
Am not mad, am not partisan, my humble observation is that many of us are stereo types, and worse still we do not acknowledge that fact. You think you are learned and you still cherish tribalism, in the name of nature of the system, then my friend college gave you a piece of paper and left you with a half empty brain. If you are learned and you loved the migori incident and hated the kwale caning, even Harvard college cannot emancipate your mind from mediocre reasoning. If you are learned and you hated the migori incident and loved the caning, then naturally, you are a mediocre. Guess what in any group of people, mediocrity is the most counted, are you one of the many? If yes, then the tribal cancer of this nation begins from you.

For the last couple of days, I have been away, in a rather but an interesting environment altogether. I loved the experience, not because it was good but because it was new and unique.

Wajir: My One Hour Experience

As I write this post, am just taking time on my hotel bed minutes after landing at Wajir international airport. You are surprised its called Wajir international airport, don't be, aircraft from Somali converge here before proceeding to Nairobi. I do not know the reason why but I guess its because of security reasons.
My one hour experience in wajir county is that the only coverage of tarmac is within the airport and not entirely, only the runway, this notwithstanding the international status. As we head outside the airport into the taxi bay, I noticed that the whole place is Sandy. Its hard to differentiate the road and a plain ground. Wondering where we gonna lay our heads for the next one or so weeks, Dula our taxi man comfortably takes us into a cool but bushy vicinity. This will be our domicile for the time being. With regard to our prior experiences, we are not amused by the desolation of this place. But we are just informed that it is the only choice if not the better one.
We book rooms and immediately head to town to quench the pangs of hunger. Don't judge us, we left Nairobi so early. At the restaurant, am fascinated by the swiftness of this waiter. He doesn't take orders, he tables what he thinks befits you. Early this morning it is a norm for any of us to have a cup of tea, but that's not the case here. We are served with roasted goat meat, a delicacy that reminds me of my three days in isiolo. Such are the moments that you wish would last forever. The town is full of donkeys and goats. The car parking is anyway even in the middle of the road. Traveling wagons are what defines the parking lot, this brings up another memory; of eldoret town and the Toyota vits swag.
Am still watching, currently our hotel rooms have no electricity, I really do not know what is happening back there in Kenya, please guys keep me posted. OK

The Ku Klux Clan

The Ku klux clan is at it again. Tearing the flesh of the nation in the quest to quench their untamed greed for material wealth. But what is more, they are not a worried lot, neither are they shaken by some media blackmail and innuendos. Their agent is residing at the house on the hill. He preaches water but his eyes tells you its wine, he talks tough but Lenku does soft and rhetorically, he inspires through public appearances but fails to sustain our high spirits. This is a tale of an average Kenyan, a kenyan who believes that leadership should offer solutions and not create problems, that leadership should spearhead development and not retrogress on the gains already made.

Am a sad man if not a sad Kenyan, ever since the jubilee government took on the mantles of powers, our candles of hope have been dimming, and they have been dimming at an unprecedented rate. Needless to say, the corruption therein, is inherent, but also it goes without saying that the two flamboyant chaps have perfected the art of massaging corruption with well written public speeches. The law is supreme, and the law stipulates clearly how the affairs of the nation are to be carried out, it demarcates delegation of duty from the sovereign power of the Kenyan people. Inasmuch as the back stops at the head of state, he represents the people and that means the back stops at each one of us.His decisions influence the national trajectory, his discretion is a collective sum of the Kenyan people and that should tell Mr. Kenyatta the gravity of the office he has been given by the Kenyan people.

About yesterday's revocation of some 22 company held title deeds, I am glad I did not waste my time listening to what I perceive as a comic moment where the entire nation is to be told lies and propaganda to settle political scores and set another PR mission, I was right he just did. Just like before, Uhuru Kenyatta has done little to convince me that I can sell him my trust. The guy is confident, why lie! But the guy is a propagandist. It defeats the purpose of a nation trying to mine truth from its agent who consistently fabricates findings that implicate his adversaries at the expense of National truth. With the mandate to protect the Kenyan people, his failure so far as always been blamed on the opposition. So funny if not petty.

So, If indeed yesterday's revelations are anything to go by, then it is my belief, that according to the president this explains the Genesis of the Lamu massacre altogether. If this is true then the audit report is long overdue and contradicts any other intelligence information there before. Sometimes back I was shocked to watch the president unequivocally blaming political machinations on the Mpeketon attacks. I wasn't alone, the response from the public was quick and tremendous. The logic at which this allegations were founded on was not even next to academic theories. An intelligence information done too quick within one day and goes on to implicate certain individuals while the Westgate report which took a couple of months is still a myth to a majority of us. Who can be fooled by such mediocre blame games. And now how comes governor Timmammy the victim of all this power tussles was yesterday right behind the president when he was once more lying to the entire nation. Has the new unfolding s, acquitted Timmammy of any wrong doings? Which court has affirmed that?

Now Mr. President, what is it again about land and the Lamu discourse. Now which road shall we take? My choice is at your disposal Mr. President, should we take the political orchestrations or shall we go with the yet to be revealed Ku klux clan of pigs. Another question begs, is this audit report that has exposed this rot in Lamu put into perspective the TJRC findings? Another question begs, According to you, what shall we take seriously, your people's report or the TJRC report? So how logical is it that the TJRC report finds land injustices way back during independence time, while your report finds injustices only when Aggrey James Orengo oversaw the land docket? Does your report highlight the court case on how Jomo allocated thousands of acres of land to your cousin Muigai and Beth Mugo? When are we going to get your apology as required by the TJRC report?

A friend of mine Dr. Ben Osama today in the morning posted on his facebook wall, "It is very hard to take Jubilee seriously. Interrupting #Mary Cruz to tell us land was grabbed(it has been here since 1963), and Orengo was minister as 22 companies grabbed 500k acres when the Judiciary is functional. Such a declaration should come from activists like #Sonko, OkiyaOmtata and the likes. But a Presidential Presser? No" Am not the only one who does not take this regime seriously, and am not the only one who thinks Uhuru Kenyatta is a joke who had no idea about what he was going to state house to do. As a matter of fact, the son of Jomo knows nothing about geopolitical dynamics of Kenya, and according to Cyprian Nyakundi, a wrong advise to this boy, is drastic for this nation, for he doesnt have the discretion to separate good from evil.

Winston Churchill and the Likes

Winston Spencer Churchill was the last person the Britons could think of, to lead them to war against the fast rising Hilter of Germany. The threat of hilter infringing the sovereignty of other nations was apparent. Inasmuch as the world knows hitler as history's worst dictator or a saddist for that matter, there's one thing that we do not appreciate about hitler. Hitler, was a leader, a resounding leader, a charismatic leader who talked to the hearts of the Germans. Hitler goes in record as a non-germany who led germany charismatically and almost made the whole nation believe he was their messiah. In fact before his rise to power, previous governments restricted him from talking in public places, not like he incited people, but because he convinced people and sold his opinion and ideology massively.

Very few in history can match the charisma Hitler manifested in his leadership. Very few world leaders have been able to rally behind themselves a whole nation like Hitler did. Nelson Mandela for instance and Mahathma Gandhi of India. Other world leaders however much the contributions they have made to their nations still remain just but a piece of politicians, struggling to convince their masses to support their course. In Kenya for instance, charismatic people like Tom Mboya attracted love and hate in equal measures. Raila Odinga has got passionate lovers and passionate haters in equal measures. The reigning love child, Uhuru Kenyatta, has got lovers and haters in equal measures, even Obama being among the most powerful faces in the international politics cannot set foot in some of the world's destination. Americans love him, but they hate in equal measures.

Back to my point, Winston Churchill was not a very good orator compared to the likes of Martin Lutherking, JF Kennedy, and Macus Garvey. He was not. His political muscles were wanting if not weak. But he knew one thing, he knew the fears of the britons, their disillusioned soul, he knew that Britons needed a captain to shield them against the aggressing Hitler. This was their fear and whoever could do this was their greatest friend. Him being a combatant and having struggled through a political life-cycle had an opportunity to serve his country at the highest office. He made the world famous maiden speech, tears, blood, sweat and toil.

I really agree totally with what churchill told Britons, that he had nothing to offer them only blood, sweat, tears and toil. That is what he stood for, and there's another thing he didn't mention, he offered them greed too. Having a history in the military and travelling to world destinations like south Africa and even escaping from custody gave him leverage over Hitler. Churchill smarshed Hitler, why lie. The shame of the loss made Hitler not to go for another day of breathing. But again if Hitler was a villain then churchill was also a villain. To affirm victory over the germany territory, Churchill bombed a germany refuge camp that housed over 500,000 peace loving harmless and helpless germans. He was ruthless and heartless.

Churchill ordered the British troops to come to Kenya to massacre our men and women in the pretence of a crackdown on Mau mau. Churchill refused to aid dying Indians who were dying of hunger and Famine. His reason being, Mahathma Gandhi being a dedicated spiritualist who fasted for even more than 7 days was not yet dead. This to churchill implied that the hunger was not serious since Gandhi was still alive. Again this resulted to over five million Indians and Parkistans dying.

Just as Hitler, Churchill was a villain, he was a saddist, heartless, ruthless and mean. But Ironically, Germans acknowledge the atrocities of Hitler, Britons only acknowledge the victories of Winston. Infact he is celebrated as the greatest Briton of all time. This greatest Briton massacred our men and women in Kiambu, this greatest Briton massacred over 500,000 innocent german refugees, this greatest briton watched as millions of Indians died while the remedy was in his right hand. Sir Winston Spencer Churchill did good to write the chronicles of his times with blood on human flesh.

#word, the prism through which we perceive leadership has got an endless wide spectrum. Britons love Churchill, not that he was good, the world hates Hitler, not that he was totally bad, the world loves Obama not that he is that good, the world may hate Puttni, not that he is bad but because they think he is bad. #lesson, love Raila Odinga and Love Uhuru Kenyatta, both of them are good. Hate Raila Odinga and Hate Uhuru Kenyatta, both of them are bad

Chatty chatty mouth

Yesterday while I was getting back home in the evening, just as usual I booked a matatu at the sarit center round-about. I was lucky the rates were still normal because quite oftenly the touts take advantage of us having no other alternative. That is not the point, I happened to sit next to a young flamboyant lawyer, not sure if he was actually a lawyer, but judging from the conversation I was keenly following, I could tell the young man was an intern in one of the leading audit firms in town.

At first, he looked sober, composed and collected. I could tell his suit was either one week old and most probably sourced from one of the upmarket stores in town. The boy was elegantly fitting in a red tie with short hair, shiny shoes and you could tell he had a taste for perfumes. It was needless to say the guy looked corporate, because he dressed and smelt corporate. He sat on the far end of the 14 seater while I chose to sit next to the tout. I guess I did this to remind this tout to give me the bus fare balance because oftenly they pretend to forget. Purposely, such like risks I avoid them in due course. We sat in silence for about two or so minutes.

Then came two fly chic's, I guess that's how Nairobians describe red lipped, light skin & scantly dressed girls. Then again another bunch of fly chic's came in before the last two filled the back seats. We sat in silence perhaps being conscious of the gender forces that could be operating in this PSV. Lackly for this boy his collegemate came and sat at the front seat, just behind the driver seat. But at first he didn't recognize his friend. The car was now full and we were ready to take off. From the headcount, I could tell that there were almost eleven weaves and five Bald-heads the driver n the tout boy included.

There was total silence and seemingly nobody wanted any interruption of his/her peace. Personally, I love this scenario, I just had enough noise in the office, what do I need more noise for. Like it is always the norm with Nairobi touts, we started tithing and offering. The boy in front turned his head and realized his friend just seated right behind him. The greetings that followed were shaky and flowsy, somehow roudy and attension seeking. I could tell it has been a while since these two dudes have hanged out. Just as how warm we men we tend to become when we bump into one of our oldschool boys, the conversation that follows quite oftenly is comprehensive, we only try not to gossip.

Both boys were in a 5000 or so suit, of course you do not expect anybody boarding this vehicle to be in that 2500 suit from Eastleigh. I could see from the tone and the ascent that the two attended college most probably in the States. Of course I was wrong, it was Kenyans doing what they do best, faking. Given a chance I could fake my ascent better than this two chaps. Don't judge me, am just saying. The advent of the conversation came in fast and furious. My boy lost his cool, the corporate cool, which always guards reputations jealously. There's one thing I know about corporates, reputation is more paramount than character. This is another definition of hypocrisy.

As the conversations kicked, I listened keenly and so did everybody on board, I could tell from the silence. The seat could not hold him any more, he felt like now he could fly. He could not help but shout, he could not hold his hand any-more but throw the hands in the air like little weezy in a rap concert, at one point my nose was almost blown off. As if aware of the loud silence in the room and his conspicuous elegance, my boy raised his voice beyond the roof. My ears were busting and I mean literally.

The conversation was quite interesting. The two work in neighbouring institutions, both of which are international corporates. Within some few minutes I could tell the guy was earning 65,000 and his colleague 70,000. I could also tell that the guy clobbered a first class in law school. I could tell that the guy lives in a two bedroomed apartment in a lower kabete gated community. I could tell that the boy pays 25000 of monthly house rent. I could also tell that his designer suit was sourced from Sanhedrin at the nakumatt junction. Not like am this nosy, they made sure that each one of us are conciously carried along their conversation.

Can I say more, yes I will. I could tell that the boy flies to Mombasa weekly to hang out with his buddies. I could tell that the boy is single and has turned down hot chics who have  come begging for dates. I could also tell the guy doesn't do Kenyan chic's, he prefers Britons over Americans. His latest designer suit was quoted 45,000 I could tell. Waauh, this boy was a fly dude right? His voice was raised to a level of beyond reasonable doubt that the fly creatures behind our backs were capturing every pronunciation of each word as it came. I can't remember all that I captured from this conversation but I also heard him mention that his weekends are fully booked up to December 2014. To this guy a range rover is an ambition of an average mediocre out there. He dreams flying choppers. Come on dude, uko na doo!

All this time I really wondered if we really deserved  to be part of this conversation. Must we know how much you spend on your pants, how many clients you ve represented in a law suit. Must you tease women with how much you earn, and how hard is for any of them to afford you? Must we know how many naked pizzas you stomach in a week? Come on Nairobi, flowsing is a lifestyle I know but please, there's an audience for flowsers. Of course I didnt pretend to be listening, but I could not help but wonder how naughty we sometimes get. Nairobi women love money, that we can take to the bank man, but come on man, approach her silently and tell her, 'hey sweerie, I earn a million dollars from my company, and I would love to take you out", she surely will concept. Stop the broadcasting niggar.

My point is, sometimes we do more harm than good. At times we love it when we are just centres of attention, but in most cases, for the wrong reasons. At times we want to entice interests from certain quarters, however we attract the wrong interest. At times we go for a PR campaign, but it turns out it is a suicidal mission. Normally, my achievements and accomplishments are the affairs of my heart. I share them when need arises and when I think its appropriate. Ladies and Gentlemen, Public relations is not taught in class, but I guess you don't have to attend such a class before you know that certain conversations are to be shut up.

Of women and bikinis

We are living in dangerous times, the times that saint Paul reffered to as the perilous time, where people will grow in wickedness, their love will grow cold, they will be disobedient and lovers of money and themselves. Sadly this people will have a form of godliness but reject the power of God. They will be the kind of people who say, we are living in a modern generation and God should learn to live with that. Hahaha! how funny do we sometimes get?

And these people will be hypocrites. They are the kinds of people who will see the speck in my eye but ignore the log in their own eyes. These are the same people who will compliment a half naked vera sidika on national television with 'ooh you look sexy' compliments but demonize Ruth matete with the same attire! They are the people who will admire Rihanna in a fully naked attire at the same time rebuke any other woman for wearing such attires. But the question is, what is the difference, between Vera sidika and Ruth Matete? What is the difference between Rihanna and any other woman who will want to emulate her wicked dressing? Why is this society turning out to be a double standard society? Are women not of the same anatomy? Or is Rihanna's anatomy up for public consumption unlike any other? Is Vera Sidika's flesh more righteous than any other woman? What is the measure of our morality? Which is the benchmark? Does this benchmark shift standards from individual to individual?

These people are reading this blog now. These people will rebuke a woman who will post her images on social media in bikinis in the comfort of her bedroom and massage another with same attire in the broadness of the sand beaches. These people, I do not understand them, do you? A bikini in the bedroom and a bikini in the sand beach, to me it is just a bikini. And again it remains a treasured attire, secret, private and confidential to the wearer and that other person with rights to touch it.This attire is a seal to the sovereign and treasured zones that should remain sealed until you in the comfort of your bedroom. Now, bikinis on facebook and twitter, is like Bikinis in the streets of Nairobi, there's no difference.

Come on who is fooling who? A bikini in the bedroom and a bikini in the beaches but both of which are posted on Facebook are different? That which was worn on the beach, does it cover a large circumference of the pelvic than that which was taken in the bedroom. On my Facebook wall I see so many of my female acquaintances posing in bikinis on sand beaches. The nakedness of this photos is quite revealing, the compliments that follow is what she really wanted. But am never amused neither am I surprised considering the role most ladies have embarked on in society nowadays; attention seeking. Today you will hate me, but get this point clearly, hoes love exposing the unexposable, don't be one.

I know somebody is asking how old fashion is this fool, doesn't he know that rihanna does the same or lupita nyongo. Oooh yes, rihanna does the same, does it make the wrong right? Absolutely not. If rihanna was to announce today that she was lesbian, will it make the act of lesbianism to be a righteous act? Absolutely not. You fool, why do you then think broadcasting your pelvic ozonals is fashionable. Who cares if you are in the beach or the swimming pool, who cares if everybody in the beach is in the same attire? A beach is a beach, and Facebook is a public street, and so are the other social media platform. If Bikinis are for the pool parties and sun busking in the beach, facebook or twitter is not a beach, it is a street, get that? It seems you just don't understand, do you?

If I were to ask you to walk with a bikini in the streets of Nairobi, I guess everybody will compliment you for being sexy right? You can imagine the reaction of the public, they will be like' wth with this chic, is she nuts'
Just like in the streets, so is Facebook, it is a public place not your bedroom. People desperate for comments and attention will go a mile higher to just get a comment, and sure enough the comments trickle in fast n furious. All this is hypocrisy and double standards of a society. Be kind to yourself and to your mother, if not, at least do this for your father, he might not die a raw analogue person! One day he might visit these social media streets and guess what he will bombard in that photo of you in a scarce bikini, just covering a very narrow element between your thighs! what a shame! Be advised

Lets Value Life and Love

Reading the book of eccleciates about life and its reward, I kept wondering, why really is life so troublesome. And why do we struggle to make the ends meet? Why do we have people who are more equal than the others? What is the essence of a brainwashing education that leaves ignorant to contemporary issues? Why do we have the president and all this other bureaucratic institutions with very longs lines of command. Why do we need the army and the police? What was behind the reason for the fool who invented the gun? What about the buffoon who spearheaded fabrication of weapons of mass destruction?
life is precious just like christ is precious. That is why he is the light, the way and the truth. But come to think of it, you who kill a person with a gun, shall you not die and follow his soul into the soil. You who perpetrate violence and tribal war, do you not consider your brothers and sisters being victims of the same machinations. Religious, cultural and political indoctrinations notwithstanding, life remains precious. Our dissent regardless of the magnitude can never justify the loss of life.
Listen good people, tribal war and hate has taken centre stage in our nation. The social fabric has deteriorated into a consolidation of heterogeneous tribal blocs. Worse still the political class has perfected this doctrine of tribal patronage and has left the entire nation singing its tune. That should not surprise, considering the kind of generation we living in. The generation that saint Paul talks about, the perilous times that indicate the coming of Jesus. What surprise me though, is the calibre of people who are singing along this unfortunate turn of events. The elites, and I mean you and me who are taking part in this conversation.
Yes, its you am talking to. Don't look at your neighbour, it is you who can read and write, who can browse and have the ability to use this internet utility. You who is the cream of this society, the very admired member of the dotcom generation, the millenial generation, the flamboyant generation Y. The generation that has been tagged as owning less and sharing more. A generation that is at war with its senior silent generation. Its you am talking about, the very enlightened and informed generation. Why have you been manipulated by the political class. This political class does not belong to our generation. They belong to an older generation called the silent generation. This people unlike we, they would own what does not belong to them. They would fight for a promotion that they do not deserve. They are slow to think and to act sequentially. This is the generation that rules us and this is the generation that has stipulated the tribal machinations that we have helped perpetrate.
Shame on you. Yes you who is reading this. You are an elite and in your mind, you came to my blog and before reading you looked at my last name! Shame on! Before reading this blog you judged my faith! Shame on you! Yes am a luyha, a bukusu for that matter! I am proud of my roots! But most importantly am Kenyan! I love everybody! Our differences are natural, but to me this is trivial, we magnify our differences by the artificial mindset that the political class has injected in to our minds. I have all friends from all over parts of Kenya. 95% of my friends do not come from my tribe and I must say, I cannot Imagine life without these people. They are dear to me and they care about me and so do I. If only we crash this tribal prism from which we perceive issues then we can care for each other indiscriminately. I love Kenya and I love all the tribes in this land and I love life and I love leaving in a multicultural peaceful society. God bless Kenya

The letter to Raila

I greet you Rt. Honourable Odinga, in the name of democracy. With a backdrop of a heightened political environment, am informed to write to you this letter enigma, to whisper a voice of reason in an atmosphere that is evidently empty of the same. Am a concerned Kenyan and better still a 'cord follower' like one griffin wasike popular chooses to call me. In the recent past I have suffered a lot of interrogation by most of my contemporaries on the motives behind this rising political cloud one year after a very competitive election. To be sincere, I have always tried my best to defend you, even in the event your actions were indefensible. This time round, Rt. Honourable, I have been unable to justify your motives behind this rally, however, much I have tried to.
This is the reason why I chose to write this letter to you, your honour. I want to go and say to them what you told me, I want to have an answer to give to this curious and worried faces. I want to take an answer to this cynics and wet blankets who believe democracy in kenya is a sour seed. I would love if at the end of our conversation I can convince one sceptical Kenyan, that indeed we need these rallies and we need them desperately. Your honour, I want the truth to come out, and I would want to tell them that your great struggle for freedom and open democracy has not been overtaken by selfish interests and pursuits. Your honour, make me understand why you are doing this rallies.
My last letter I did to the president. He is a small boy compared to you, in your own father's words jaramogi called it the 'political novices'. Your honour, just before you wrote him a letter I had just delivered mine. I don't know, but I think, the reason why he did not reply yours, is because he was writing a reply to me. Your letter found him when he had already been overtaken by events. Do not blame him, he is a busy man, you know what it takes to be a president right? But most importantly, in my letter to the president, I made my self clear, that I was your supporter and like he did, I expected him to address my concerns impartially. Today, I will let you know, that I have been your supporter, and I am still. Address me like you would have addressed a crowd in Kisumu or Kibera or Mombasa.
Your honour, Just like my buddies, I do not support this rally thing, and I don't like it mahn. This thing called SabaSaba, whatever it means, I also do not like it man. However, I support the call for the national dialogue, although some of your demands are raising questions on the aptitude level of your think-tank. Come on man, we need this dialogue and we really need it desperately. But why the rallies, why pressure government, and by the way what do you mean by pressure, does it mean the government will be forced to concede for the dialogue when blood is shed. We ve seen political activities already, even before you jetted in from America, but the government has not yet conceded to your political activities yet. what now about saba saba? what will be different on this occasion for the government to concede, will it be bloodshed? or demolition and destruction of property? Honourable make me understand, because in Kenya we are used to rallies and many of which are spearheaded by the opposition, what will be so different about this thing called Saba Saba! for the government to concede then.
I must salute you for the struggle to establish better governance for the Kenyan people. I salute you for the second liberation of this nation, from single party tyranny into a more spacious democratic arena. Honourable I salute you for fearlessly fighting against the oppressive Nyayo regime, and I also salute you for the recent reforms with regard to the constitutional dispensation. I salute you for being the voice of the marginalised, the hopeless and the left outs. I salute you honourable, for being the undisputed father of democracy in this land, I cant say more, this far we have come, democratically your hand is so conspicuous. But what now, do we need to shed another blood to drive sense to the two novices in the house on the hill.
Come on man, we know they have not been up-to the task so far, but do we all have to pay for the price of their incompetency. Not really. The speculations of political turmoil will of course culminate in an ungovernable nation but more profound consequences are within the details. The private sector fraternity has already raised the red flag and the financial markets will follow suit. Business activities of course will come to a halt and our economy will suffer a big setback. If the worst come then some miserable hassler will have to shed blood out of the demonstrations leaving a disgruntled family behind, there will be ethnic mobilization that will result into tribal clashes! Rt. Honourable, is it your joy that even me I should go through this, come on man!
Do not be insensitive, do not be immune to the suffering of a common mwananchi like me. Remember this Rt. Honourable, kenya belongs to all of us, we are equal citizens and  just like yours, my opinion counts as much. Please stop this madness called Saba Saba! Can we address issues of national importance holistically without any political bickering. Your young brother in state house is a man who listens, talk to him and let us reason together. Please abeg oooh!

We are One

Of recent I have been drawn into this world cup thing until I haven't had time to watch news. That reflects the irresponsibility of my juvenile self in overlooking matters of National importance. But forgive for neglecting my duties as a sovereign citizen, its only that news time in Kenya has turned out to be episodes of sad unfolding and heartbreaking revelation not mention the careless political rhetoric that we experience each unfolding day. To say the least am a very sad Kenyan, not because we ve been denied the hopes to live the beauty of our dreams but because we fail to confront that which threatens our very existence.

Ooh wait a minute, let me take this opportunity to condemn the terror attack on the residents of Mpeketon town. My heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the victim that succumbed to both death and Injury. It is unfortunate that the enemy has continuously and consistently been advancing and killing our synergy as a united nation. The objectives might be profound than that which meets our eyes, the consequences more dire than expected. We continue to toil, sweat and bleed in our own motherland and live as slaves full of fear and disillusionment in a place we have resiliently build for the last 50 years. How sad.

But worst still our careless utterance can just be one of the objectives of this enemy. The blame game is an indication that the battle we lost long time ago. A nation that stands divided is united in defeat. You now see my point, by the time we perfected the blame game, we actually affirmed to Al-shabaab that we were a prey that was so ripe for an attack. Needless still is the rhetoric of the security apparatus, their conspicous incompetency, their silent indecision and their inability to restore the confidence of Kenyans in their efforts to revert an already ailing security situation.

Have I already started blaming? oooh! so am just a typical Kenyan who cannot drive a point home without pointing a finger. Consider this, when Shabaab descended on westgate and massacred over 65 innocent lives, the infamous westage SIEKE report is yet to be brought to the public limelight. To make matters worse, a report by Journalist Mohammed of Jicho Pevu that exposed the rot that the security personnel engaged in including stealing of goodies from shops and supermarkets at the mall left a lot of Kenyans wondering the heartless and irresponsibility of those mandated to safeguard and protect our lives. Worse still was the stalemate characterised by conflicting operations by the Kenya Police, the Recce squad and the Kenya Defence Forces that paralysed the entire operation. According to Moha's report, the war against the militants at the mall was lost the moment there was miscommunication among the security operatives.
The unfortunate Westgate SIEKE was followed by revelations by the Nairobi senator that he had shared intelligence information on a looming terror attack with the relevant security agencies only for them to remain in their comfort Zone.

The Mpeketoni incidents is here and is rekindling memories of a defunct security apparatus. Witness say the siege lasted 7 hours before any security reinforcement was deployed. Leave alone the brave police who became victims of the attack, it is actually so heartbreaking to discover the attack was preventable but because of negligence now more than 60 innocent Kenyans lie lifeless. You can Imagine if two matatus were Hijacked two hours before the attacked, Imagine again the police were informed that militants had hijacked two matatus and yet, 9 hours after the siege is when there was police response. The Intelligence service has now come clean to say that actually they informed the government about a looming terror attack at the coastal region way before the militants attacked. But now the question is, the militants walked casually out of the .......I cant just finish this blog, I have just read this statement from Uhuru's facebook post  'Fellow Kenyans, I am satisfied that, for the most part, our security agencies have performed well and thwarted innumerable terrorist and other criminal conspiracies and attempts.' This guy is just....argggh....nkt

The Letter to Governor Lusaka

Honourable Ken Lusaka, I greet you in the name of our lord Jesus. I come in peace honourable. To be sincere, I have met you once, and to be sincere again, I cannot recollect how many feet tall you are. In short, it is long since we engaged and it is long since I could put my issues on your table. Thanks to technology, this letter will reach you, and thanks to the vibrant County 411 forum, your moles will bring you to the attention of this letter. I am a proud son of Bungoma county, raised and bred in Chwele division.
The first time I met you, honourable, it was a university's student's forum in Lunar park Nairobi. I must thank you for the kes 250 you gave us, I afforded some chicken and bhusuma in town on my way back to college. But most importantly, I shall thank you for providing a platform where young and promising leaders like we could share our opinion with how the silent generation can run matters. By then, it was a campaign mood and at least we were sure, honourable, you were going to go to the books of history as the first governor of Bungoma county. It came to pass, and there you are, in the big office, managing budgets in billions, enjoying the glory of fuel guzzlers complete with a security detail, ooh Mr. Governor, you are really rolling big, how I envy your position.
Forgive me for being critical, it is human nature. I remember, when you were declared winner of the Bungoma gubernatorial position, I could not hide my joy, I knew that the lives of my people will be turned around, our hopes rekindled and the synergy to build this nation re-energized. This was premised on the belief that you had no background in politics and thus, you were not yet corrupted by the absolute power. A week later, in a conversation with my boss, one Mr. Patrick, he left me thinking, is it possible that you were a good choice but not a very good one. Mr. Patrick told me, a politician and bureaucrat are both poor choices for the gubernatorial position. Of course at first, I had to challenge his perspective, I really thought he was taking his criticism too far.
But I came to think of it, you were serving in the former provincial administration right? Am also aware you served as a permanent secretary before we endorsed you as our governor. Maybe my boss was right? Sometimes I tend  ignore his perspective especially that he just wants to be smarter than me. But I guess this time he was right. Yes he was right, a bureaucrat, especially one with a background in the provincial administration was not the best choice for a governor. I stand to be corrected honourable governor. Not like you lack the aptitude for that position, but because you have been bred in a culture away from wealth maximization and rich with expenditure maximization. Of course, you do have a mindset, a right mindset for that matter, but in our context the mindset is in a wrong position. This was a hard fact that I had to stomach once I learnt that so far one year down the line, your development track record was below average.
Mr. Governor, I am not sceptical about your ability to deliver, I am sceptical about your ability to make Bungoma a commercial capital of western Kenya. Development in the sense of the old Provincial administration was all about, constructing roads, donating desks to schools, connecting electricity to this and that village, going for fundraising in schools. That remains part of the fundamental parts of our development, that I do not dispute, because we can't move forward without accomplishing this. I am informed Mr. Governor, you ve done a good job, improving the road network within our county, congratulation for the work well done. However, I need more profound solutions to the problems bedevilling this county. Personally I come from Chwele and the state of the market is not worthy the stature of a second largest open air market in east and central Africa. the Place is actually more of a dump-site than a market place. What about the facility you started way back in 2011, the chicken facility to be precise, am still waiting to see any smoke of hope from that facility ever since you came into office.
Mr. Governor, it is my belief that your office needs the mindset of a technocrat. This is a mindset of doing this differently, the mindset of creating utility where there was none, the mindset of wealth maximization, reformation and restructuring of structure, the mindset of innovating new ways of doing things and breaking away from the orthodox of complacency. Honourable sir, I would wish that you have the mindset of an entrepreneur and not just a governor, the mindset of a manager and not an administrator, I would also wish that you have the mindset of a consultant and not a ruler for I believe these are some of the underlying contemplations of devolution. Now that you are our governor we cannot change that for sure, but I choose to support you both critically and morally. I ain't a sycophant to flirt you with congratulatory comment event in the event you ve failed.
My input is, beyond construction of roads can we also construct parks as public utilities and invite private investors to develop restaurants and recreational facilities, it will create jobs. Beyond construction of poultry facilities, is it possible we establish marketing agencies to engage both the local and international marketing clients. What if we revamp our dairy industry by bringing on board conglomerates, establish collection centres in each village with complete structures including coolants. If community participation in such conglomerates is an issue, then your government can tailormake a shareholder's agreement for the interest of the locals and the investor. Is it possible you engage consultants to crack down on how best we can lengthen the value chain of our products including onions, tomatoes, sunflower, coffee and even tea in Mt. Elgon.
Is it possible Mr. Governor that you be on the front-line for capacity building to empower the farmer and in the long run realize full commercialization of agriculture. If the external market won't be easy to crack, can we preach the purchase of Bungoma products to support and promote the Bungoma producer. Am just thinking loudly, honourable governor, can resource mobilization be narrowed down to the village level. Is it possible the economic stimulus programme can be materialized at the village level to realize full exploitation of potentail. Can you leverage this by engaging consultants to educate the residents on basic issues in entrepreneurship, agribusiness and business management.
Your excellency, sorry for downgrading your bureaucratic ability, but i just hope that you see my point. That actually, we can generate revenue not from central government allocations only, but from our ability to mobilize resources at the grass root level. That we can innovate ways of creating wealth for the common good and set a precedent for the other counties. That we can see Bungoma County as a business entity and not a political jurisdiction. Your excellency, I hope you get my point that all we need is to reform, restructure, refabricate, rebuild and reorganize and we shall pull out the masses from poverty.

The Letter to the President

Your Excellency, I greet you in the name of our lord Jesus. I did that purposely that you may know that I come in peace and my greetings are in good faith. Your excellency, thank you for reading this letter, thank you for sparing your precious time to listen to the sorrows of a Kenyan of my calibre. I hold you in high esteem as the head of state of this great nation and as a symbol of unity for our beloved country Kenya. I take this opportunity also to congratulate you, although it is one year down the line for your victorious emergency out of the march 4th elections 2013.
Your excellency, am a Kenyan by origin, and maybe I suppose you are not like my good friend Kalonzo Musyoka, as you read this letter, it is my hope that this opinion stands autonomous, and it is my hope that my name shall not betray me like it betrayed mureithi the journalist. I will make my self clear, am not a mole neither am I an imposter, am a young man who resiliently supported the candidature of the Rt. Honourable Raila Odinga. I also hold him in high esteem as an African statesman who has demonstrated a resolve to cultivate an open and free democracy in African society that was defined by a stampede of tyranny. Do not hate me or disregard me for being a supporter of the former premier, remember its a free democracy, it is my choice to like him.
But look here, your excellency, I am a disillusioned Kenyan, and am annoyed at the turn of events. Its not like am disgruntled because my team lost the elections but because I believe, in our context, whether you are a loser or a winner, both of us have fallen victims of your indiscretion. Your actions have been good, but not very good, your words have been inspiring but your actions remain to be counted as retrogressive and destructive. I do not to judge your person, but I shall question the authenticity of your office on matters of National importance.
Recently, I watched as your right hand man, Dennis Itumbi pulled down a post on your Facebook account. I remember, it was an update on the unfolding appointments at the National Youth Service. I cannot conclude whatever reason why the post was pulled down, but I guess the tribal venom was embarrassing, especially on a presidential wall. I spent the better part of my morning reading through the comments generated by the post. I was a sad man. Kenya was calmly rising up against its brothers and sisters. If I were a typical Kenyan political commentator, like they always do, I would say Rift Valley had decided to start cutting down the tree in which you and your deputy climbed on. How sad, we need a stable government, and we being part of the opposition, we would love to see you and your deputy deliver on your promises to Kenyans.
Your excellency, allow me to say that  tribally you have performed dismally. Looking at my name, I know it betrays me, but as much most Kenyans hold in my opinion. Nothing else gives us the right to belong to your government than the constitution you declared you will uphold. Naturally, we do not deserve to belong to your government or at least demand any position, for during your trial moments, when Mr Jailer was on your neck and I suppose he is still, we disregarded your candidature and refuted any possibility of your presidency. But that was then, now it is time to focus on more important issues than personal difference. It is a collective feeling that larger part of the country, feels left out of your government. it also surprises me that the rift valley mandarins have already started crying foul on being given a raw deal. I won't speak for them, only them, know what that means.
But speaking on a perspective of a natural feeling, allow me to say that, it is too dangerous to ignore a feeling of rejection that the majority of us Kenyans are feeling. It is also dangerous to think that those who support the opposition have no intention of working with your government, we do want to work with you, our political differences notwithstanding. Your excellency, it is high time, you look into this matter and reconsider your public appointments. It will be more shameful, if again, we experience another Facebook post by your administration pulled down in broad daylight. This nation is made up of 42 tribes, and as a head of state, remember you are leading 42 tribes. You need to serve the interests of 42 tribes, defend 42 tribes, employ 42 tribes, protect 42 tribes and improve the livelihoods of 42 tribes.
Remember this your excellency, the building of this nation is a collective responsibility, but the destiny of this nation has been delegated to a few individuals, you being a pillar, so tread softly.

No Servant is greater than his Master

no servant is greater than his master. If they persecuted me, then bear in mind that you too shall be persecuted' john 15 :19 the best part comes at the end of this verse, " if they obeyed my teachings, they will obey yours too"
There's one great lesson we learn from this reading, that real disciples of Christ synonymously suffer persecution. The words of Christ to his disciples are made clear to what eventually happens to peter, Stephen, Paul n the other disciples of Christ. Just like Christ, they were hated in equal measures n persecuted just like their master Jesus.
But let's find out those that persecute the true church of Christ, who are they and what are they up to. Biblically they r reffered to as the world, which is synonymously associated with darkness. Now we know that there's no fellowship between light n darkness as Paul says in the book of 2 cor 6:14. This explains why the world is zealous to hate  n persecute Christ n his body. For Christ is the light of the world, the light that gives life n brings hope to mankind. The world has seen a great light but since people love evil they have chosen to stay in darkness.
In Genesis 1:2 God said let there be light and there was light n he saw that the light was good, so he separated it from darkness. But the chronology of creation that this light of Genesis 1:2 is a special kind of light. It is not the light of brightness from heavenly bodies. The light that we know n we have seen that which is disemminated from the sun, the moon, and the stars is created later in Genesis 1:16. This begs a question which light was created in verses one.
There r two components of the earth. The world n the church. The world is formless n with no life. It is full of evil, deceit and hate. But God loves the light, which embodies Christ n the church. From the word go during creation, the church should have no fellowship with the world.
Accordingly an order of distinction has been set from the beginning n any marging or harmonization of this two compartments is against the wish of the author of creation.
If the world fabricated miniskirts, the church should reject the same for this is the initiation of sexual immorality. If the world introduced open chest in the name of cleavage, then the church should remember that our God is a holy God. When we gather at places of worship, we go with an intension to meet the father. He is not interested with a woman's chest. He has no time to give compliments like those idlers in the street. Please young lady, present your self to the father with fear n reverence not as if you r going to a birthday party.
The church should have nothing to do with homosexuality, with politics, with alcohol and any other thing that does not glorify the father. Reader beware, there's no fellowship between light n darkness. God loves the light n he hates darkness. If you love Christ then you should stop persecuting his church.

Remember that person

A few minutes while we were glued on the TV watching the prime time news, the survivor series to be precise on KTN we were drown into a conversation that was very emotional but at the same a reality check.
For those who saw the ordeal of the women suffering from the condition of fistula must agree with me that it is an urgly chapter that should never happen to anyone. In the quest for children n raising of families, these women find themselves in a world of isolation n shame that cannot be measured. In our conversation my friend opens up on what most women undergo especially those affected with fibroid n fitsula.
Hey man, people a suffer. God's people are suffering. Some tears are not worthy holding back regardless of whether the victim is a loved one or a stranger. It is so sad that some conditions happen to our sisters.
This reminds me one of the Sundays while we were listening to testimonies in my church, a young lady confessed of being haunted by a strange phenomena. After her long calls, a red element, probably part of her lower intestines could come out and hung around. Imagine each time you go for long calls, your intestine come calling, how sad, how dreadful, how urgly, how sorrowful. But our God is faithful, she received her healing even without any medical operations.
Now you the reader, maybe you are there complaining on how God has not answered your prayers or how he hasn't given you your dream job like your contemporary. You complain about why you were born short, slim or black. Remember this, out there there's an adult who still uses Pampers on a daily basis. There's a woman whose flow of blood since her first menstruation, has never stopped. There's another whose uterus has already been removed citing health issues. Remember there's a man who cannot have kids. Remember there's a woman whose every pregnancy result into a miscarriage.
Remember that street family in the cold of Nairobi with an infant in their custody. Remember the street children who are eating from the dungeons of dandora damp site. Remember that very bright classmate of yours whose intelligence was thrown out of the window citing lack of fees.
Has God not been gracious enough to you. To the children of Israel in the wilderness, while he gave them manna from heaven, they still complained. Give thanks for the little you have. Look at Jesus, in his ministry, before anything, he thanked the father. And God listened. Give thanks for the little you have, complaining is equivalent to disobedience, both of which the lord hates.

The Baptism of JOHN

John 3:3 in reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again" in this context Jesus makes it clear to Nicodemus, one of the senior members of the Jewish ruling council, the threshold that affords admission into the kingdom. You must be born again.
Jesus continues to explain to Nicodemus, in verse 5 of john 3 that unless you are born of water n the spirit, you can never see the kingdom of God. There are therefore two components of salvation. The baptism of water and the baptism of the spirit. Both of which are necessary for our entry into the kingdom. Are you baptized through immersion into water? If not, then you haven't fulfilled one of the righteousness that gives you the ticket to heaven.
Remember the encounter between Christ n john the Baptist, when the lord went to the Jordan, where john was baptizing. John tried to deter Jesus saying it was Jesus who was supposed to baptize him. In Mathews 3:15 Jesus replies' let us do this now, it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness' then john consented.
In this scenario, Jesus makes it clear that even himself he had to pass through the baptism of water to fulfill the righteousness of the heavenly kingdom. And remember it is baptism with water, immersion in water. Do not be cheated, fire is not the baptism that Jesus tells Nicodemus in JOHN 3 neither is the act of pouring water on the heads of the faithful. In Mathews 3:16 we see Jesus being immersed in water. It says,  "as soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water......' This means he had been immersed in water.
And what is the significance of this immersion, it is symbolically, the death of our sinful self and the resurrection of our new self. The immersion means we are dying into sin while our coming out of the water is the resurrection in the body of Christ. At baptism we are united with christ, we now graduate to share in his inheritance as sons of God.
By the way at baptism, the spirit of God will testify and will promote us into sons of God. In Mathews 3:16 -17 immediately Jesus came out of the water, the spirit of the lord descended upon him and it testified saying 'this is my son whom I love, with him I am well pleased'.
This illustration is indeed enough to explain the chronology of the birth Jesus talks about in john 3. The birth of water n the spirit. In the life of Jesus, we see the encounter of Jesus with the holy spirit at baptism, for the first time. That means the lord opens heavens and pours his spirit when we undergo the baptism of immersion.
The baptism of the spirit therefore comes almost immediately when we resurrect out of the water and here God the father loves us and he recruits us as his sons to share in the inheritance of Christ.
Now remember after baptism, we open doors to temptations. The 40 days of hunger and really sufferation r ushered in. But just like Jesus we r called upon to stand firm in our faith. Paul reminds us in romans 6 from verses 1, now that we have become a new, we need to act in the spirit of Christ, resist evil and demands of our sinful self. We must remember our bodies are now the temples of the holy spirit, by which we need to act to the decrees of the father. We need to walk in the light of the lord and make our ways pure, for our God is a perfect God.
To my beloved reader, unless your born of water n the spirit, you can never inherit the kingdom of God. If you are not baptized then this is your time. And if you did and you think it was not in accordance with the baptism of john the Baptist, I mean the baptism of immersion, please get in touch with me for Jesus is coming and he should find you ready. Shalom

I really loved the spirit

Why the Presidential Facebook Status Update was pulled down

Yesterday I was perplexed to learn that President Uhuru's Facebook account managers had the Audacity to pull down a post where by the  president had acknowledged the appointment of one Mr. Githinji as the Director General of the National Youth Service. Being a keen observer of the Jubilee government, I spent the better part of my morning going through updates on social media on the unfolding events both in the social and political arenas around the country.
The post that was pulled down had elicited emotions and hate speech among Kenyans. I was even surprised to learn that the president himself follows the comments keenly. However, I understand it was for all good that the status update was pulled down since the exchanges were bitter and shaming in this time and era. While people from the larger Mt. Kenya region justified the appointment of Mr. Githinji on rather obvious reasons, the rift valley fraternity felt short changed and intimidated. Some were regretting the choices they made at the 2013 march 4th election. I remember many were raising issues with how the powerful secretary, Anne Waiguru was handling her dockets and how she was sending home purportedly members of other community within her ministry and replacing them with her cronies.
For sometimes, on matters politics I have been silent, but Martin Luther King Jnr tells me, sometimes silence is betrayal. I had to speak up my mind because I too am party to this issues.Of all the ministers in the Jubilee government, ask me and I will tell you, Anne Waiguru is the Moses Kenyans have been waiting for. Maybe to be Biblically correct, let me call her Esther, because Moses was greater than any other prophet in the bible. The reforms she is formulating are just masterpieces and commendable. For those who have come across the Huduma center strategy paper, know that with the Huduma center, fully dispensed across the counties, our public service will be transformed into havens of service delivery.
By the way did you watch yesterday on Television, the new structure of the Central government. How it has streamlined itself within the new devolved system? Of course I have my reservations, about the power tussles that will result between the county commissioners and the county governors, but if I heard it right, the county commissioners were empowered to carry out the functions of the national government at the county level. If they will live within that mandate, then I do not have any reason to worry, I will be happy that Kenyans at the county level will enjoy the same services Nairobians visiting Huduma Center next to GPO are enjoying. If the county commissioners live to the words of the president, then this is the time we are going to curb corruption to levels that never before have been realised.
It is for our own good that service delivery to Wanainchis like me and you is being elevated. Politics aside, give credit where it deserves, Anne Waiguru is doing what I could call the game changing play. Leave alone the county governments, they are struggling to build their capacity, but their undoing does not mean the central government should sit back and wait, we must reform where need be and we must elevate accountability to the next level and we must also realize that demonizing the central government does not make the county governments holier, instead it makes them vulnerable.
Remember also that those hating on Anne Waiguru for firing Evans Gor selemango and Rugut and terming that as a tribal reallignment are speaking for their communities and not for the good of Kenyans. I do not justify her appointments but neither do I justify those who rebuke this appointments. If Kalenjins are protesting that one of their own has been replaced by the Mt. Kenya Mafia and terming that as tribal, then it means they too use tribal prisms to perceive issues. By the way, am Luyha, and guess what, in this government, we are nowhere and I mean nowhere, but what about that, we live with that, we were told to accept and move on, and that is exactly what we are doing. I choose not to protest tribal appointments, I will choose to comment superb service delivery.

Grandmothers Day

I remember during holidays, I used to join my cousins Paul Otido and Soita at grandma's place. We used to look after the cattle all week long, the best part of it being the bull fights and how our favorite Nyundo, used to rule whenever we could take the cattle to the river. On a certain occassion, immediately we returned the cattle from the river, we usually found launch ready, a delicacy of 'mabwondi' sweet potatoes and 'sturinky', black tea. Grand ma' would help in tying the animals while we enjoyed her cookings. But on this occasions, one of her own bulls maritati turned against her and threw her over its back, she was wailing and I remember my uncle mark running to save our grand ma.' I was greatly depressed as a young boy, I thought my grand ma' was going to die. but thank God she was a very strong woman.
Being young and clumsy, I loved hanging out with my cousins. In most cases I could spent the night at akina Paulo's place & just come back to her place to take breakfast. This was not surprising by the fact that my cousins were my contemporaries and we had a lot in common. More so, at least their I could eat mandazis and chapatis occasionally. However, grand ma' loved it when I slept by her side. However, I didn't like sleeping by her side. Her snoring was too loud and unending, the prayers were full with the 'riswaaa' punchline, with saliva jumping over to me. Plus I usually wet her bed and she could wake up in the morning furious and lamenting. I did not want my uncles and cousins to know this but I was a little kid had no option but to abide. Whenever i wet her bed, for following night she could prepare an animal skin for me as my beddings, but since i loved drinking a lot of milk before bed time, I could not fail to wet animal skin also.
On sundays she always woke us early in the morning prepare tea and head us to church. She was well known, a soloist and a drum-mist. On such occasion she always stood to testify how God was gracious because of us her grand children. In fact she always had song items to present and on this special occassion, she invited the grand children to join her. You can imagine, the ordeal singing a song in which you do not know the lyrics and the drum beats consumed our voices.
On most sundays the service was an outreach programme. It could often begin in the market centers with a word of prayer. We could form a line with grand ma' on the forefront. She led the song as we moved a long with other church members singing and going around the village homesteads blowing the trumpet of Christ. She was a talented soloist and drum-mist. I still remember this episodes clearly and I really wish at such like times technology was as it is now. I could have recorded these events, and you could have loved to see my humble background.
That was the best part of my childhood spending time with my sweet grand ma'. Being washed with a stone, you can imagine the friction, but she believed that that was the best way to remove the hard stains. Bathing became an ordeal that we wished could never reach on each single day. But I miss those days, I miss the adventure, I miss her. RIP grand ma' rachel, I know you are in heaven, that am sure you are. and just as you always prayed that we could grow up into God fearing and responsible men, God is our witness, we surely will meet in heaven. #happymothersday

If you didn't know, she's the one am marrying

Now back to serious business, am thinking of marrying now. Not because I want to be married but because it is the right thing to do. Not because most of my friends are tying the knot, but because it is God's command. Because I want to be more responsible and I want to fulfill that which God started.
And guess what am marrying A rabecca, the one who will give me a Jacob, she is A ruth, from which the root of Jesse will emanate, she is an Elizabeth, to give me the greatest prophet who will baptise people with water!
And guess what she is
Her body is not tattoed! At least only her ears are pierced, she is a natural mystic.
she shows aptitude in every kind of learning!
first in understanding and slow in speech!
She is not a gossiper!
she is not a whiner and a complainant!
Her hair is natural, those wigs from dead horses and dead Indians can never be part of her beauty
She is not obsessed with wearing animal skin colours, like tigers, cheetahs, leopards and pythons, I cant stand demons in my house
Her chest is well covered, there's no way I can consume public utilities!
Her thighs are also well covered, I don't need a hoe!
She is not obsessed with Junk food at Galitos restaurant, I don't need to struggle with cancer and other cholesterol related infections in my middle age.
Her english is pure: I cant stand statements such as "please dear, I kulad your chocolate" how many teenagers will I be rearing, children and the wife?
She is not into soap opera's, at least this makes her reasoning above board. I can't stand such obsession in the house!
She has a natural skin and she doesn't use sophisticated appliances! why should my wife age twice as fast as I do!
She is God fearing! But she's not the kind who were wasted in college, those who cannot even remember the name of their boyfriends the time they stepped in college! She's not the kind of woman who ran to church because there is where she has hopes for a husband after years of debauchery and excessive pleasure, I cannot eat the vomit of a dog. She is not the kind of woman who thinks our finances are our future. she knows that our salvation is a matter of life and death! without salvation, our marriage looses its foundation!
And by the way, in the absence of Sarah, Rabecca comforted Isaac, in the absence of my mother, she is my comfort. It is as simple as that! Oooh yeah!

Over the Easter I was in Eldoret, and Guess what? I don't care about what you say

Over the Easter holiday, I was in Eldoret, not for anything else but to spent a little time at the feet of Jesus. I attended the National Thanks giving ceremony, organised by his servant, Prophet Dr. Owuor. At the mention of this name, I know you already see me as a Lunatic or rather a brain washed fellow. It is not surprising, you are not the only one who thinks prophet Owuor is a false prophet. There's a sea of people out there, just like you, who cannot stand the mention of the name, Dr. Owuor. A good number of Kenyans who in their knowledge think their spiritual discernment is above board, they behave as if God has given them the authority to determine the true prophets and the false one.

I will not Judge anybody neither will I condemn those who insult prophet Owuor. For I believe in his message, I believe the miracles that God uses him to perform and I believe that he was send to prepare the church for the coming messiah. I will prefer to call him the 'Man of God' for obvious reasons. Seeing the venom on social media and even the main stream media against this revival, am reminded of Christ and what he had to say about being his followers. Christ said, the world will hate those who are associated with him, but his encouragement again was, that we should know that before they hated us, they hated him. So today, you can choose to hate me for all I care, for Christ did not come for peace, he came to turn daughter against mother, brother against uncle, friend against friend.

However, there's a lot of talk that are surrounding this man of God. A man whom I will describe as a humble, God fearing servant, with a zeal to complete the message Christ brought to the world. Now what message did Christ bring to the world? "repent for the kingdom of heaven is near" you can read that in Mathews chapter 5. How similar was that message with that of John the Baptist, for John the baptist came with the same words, "repent for the kingdom of heaven is near" refer to Mathews chapter 3 from verse 2. I do not know about you, but I wonder, somebody who preaches repentance and holiness, whose prophesies have come to pass, who performs miracles and most importantly declares Jesus as the lord and the Christ, and you have the audacity to call him false?

My question to those condemning, this servant of God is, have you ever encountered a true prophet. If so did he come in your village or in your town. Was he riding a donkey or a horse? was he driving a vits or a range rover? Was he black or white? Was he learned or an illiterate? How did he look? And what was his message? Of all this questions, you must remember that the Pharisees were the greatest custodian of the Mosaic law, they were the most educated and learned friends at that time. Yet Moses had written about Jesus, David saw the coming of Jesus, Isaiah and the prophets saw the coming of the Messiah. All this doctrines were in the custody of the Pharisees, but guess what, they rejected Jesus, yet with their knowledge, their righteousness and authority they were better placed to know the messiah than the general public.

But where did they begin from, they rejected the messenger John the Baptist. In fact they called him a mad man who eats wild honey and locust. But the drama did not end there, when Jesus came with his ministry he mingled with everybody including tax collectors, and guess what the Pharisees said, here is a glutton who eats with tax collectors. That is the world, in whatever form, they will hate you, even those with spiritual discernment and knowledge of the bible like Pharisees, they will hate what is right and love what is evil. The same scenario is recurring in the Kenyan church, people love the panda mbegus, the church that is liberal, that accommodates every kind of evil including lately homosexuals but a pure message of repentance and holiness is being demonised first by the media and followed by the Kenyan church.

I don't care whether you believe Dr. Owuor is a true prophet or not but all I care is that you know the truth. The truth is found in John 3: 2 Nicodemus said, Rabbi we know you are from God, for no one can perform this miraculous signs if God were not with him. Who was Nicodemus? He was a member of the Jewish Ruling council, and what did he mean by saying "we know"? This means among the Pharisees some knew that Jesus was the Christ, but why did they reject him all the same? They were afraid of being thrown out of the synagogue. Now has Dr. Owuor not prophesied and it came to pass, didn't he prophesy the blood shed in Kenya, didn't he prophesy the typhoon in Philippines, didn't he prophesy the Mexican floods, the Haiti earthquakes and the Tsunami that hit Asia. All these prophesies are broadcasted in Jesus is Lord Radio, nobody listens, neither do they take him serious. But they are loud to call him a false prophet.

Another question I have for our media, in the meeting in Eldoret, there were testimonies that HIV AIDS was healed and medical tests carried out. If actually the media is doubting all this miracles, I think it was on live television, why don't the media verify the authenticity of this miracles instead you concentrate on washing of the streets, motorcade and titles. Why can't the media follow up on the HIV status of those who testify and affirm the miracles that God does? Why? Instead they are obsessed with demonizing a servant of  God calling him all sorts of name. The mystery of HIV being healed is not taken serious, no media house wants to bring this truths to light, but here they are broadcasting trivial issues on how streets were cleaned and how business came to a stand still in Nakuru Town because of Prophet Owuor. Who bewitched you people?

Am not comparing the prophet with Christ, he is the servant of Christ and Jesus is his master. That we can take to the bank. For the great multitude who are throwing insults, i guess they haven't heard his teachings. I will tell you, go and find on youtube the following teachings by this man Dr. Owuor, "the kingly diet", "the highway of holiness", "the wood", "walking with God" "my people" "the midnight hour" when all is said and done, it is up to you to continue cursing yourself or receive spiritual discernment. the ball is in your court.

By the way, I forgot to tell you that cursed is a mouth that insults the prophet of the lord. Now who chooses the prophets of God, is it God or Man? Who told you prophets are chosen from popular opinion, like the way we choose our presidents? If Jesse was given an opportunity to choose among his sons, a king for Israel, where could David be? He could definitely be rotting in the wilderness. So your opinion doesn't make somebody a false prophet, only God knows those he has anointed and your negative opinion doesn't change that position. So be careful, let your opinion be in tandem with God's opinion. Do not judge, for you too will be judged, if you are not sure of whether somebody is false or not or if I should put it, if your spiritual discernment is limited, better avoid such discussions. This goes also for the doubting Thomas, for pointing fingers at the Anointed of the Lord, I tell you the consequences are dire.

You are in the wrong church

Last week while I shared my sentiments on why Joel Osteen is doing a great job motivating people but why he should be addressed as a motivational speaker and not a pastor, I knew emotions, good and bad could be raised in equal measures. A friend of mine blasted me and questioned why I am the self proclaimed righteous. The next question that popped on that status update was what is the right church and who is the right servant of God? I do not want to be judgemental, I want to refer to the biblical teachings which in the spiritual realms are the sound doctrines, the teaching by which Christ commanded that they should remain in me. I will not tell you about the right church, I will tell you about the wrong one, so that it will be upon you to make the right decision.
Isiah 35: 8 and a highway will be there, it will be called the way of holiness. the unclean will not journey on it; it will be for those who walk on it; wicked fools will not go about on it. 9 No lion will be there, nor will any ferocious beast get up on it; they will not be found there. But only the redeemed will walk there.
In the contemporary world, a highway in most cases is named after its destination. In the Kenyan context, The Thika super highway takes you to Thika, the same goes for Mombasa road, it lands you in Mombasa. Others are Namanga road, Kiambu road, Murang'a road, Nakuru Highway, all of which are named according to the destination. Now Isiah speaks about a Highway, its name is the way of holiness. This means the destination of this highway is a place called holy. Now who is found in this place called Holy, let us consult Leviticus 19 : 2 " speak to the entire assembly of Israel and say to them: Be holy because I, the LORD your God, am holy". It is God the almighty, The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He is the ruler of the destination of this highway.

But is it everybody that will journey on this highway? not really, let alone reaching the destination. A church is a ministry in the spiritual realms. It is a vehicle that takes you to a destination. The destination is called Holy. The place where God is. Now this means for you to know if you are in the right church, the vehicle (church) should be found not anywhere else but on this highway, the highway of holiness. Any road a part from this highway, it is basically taking you to a different destination. There you might never find God.

How will you know that actually your church is sailing on this highway. I will tell you how. The unclean will not journey on it. These are the defiled souls. Those who indulge in sexual immorality, discord, dissension, debauchery, idolatry and as Paul names them in Romans 13: 13. If such people are comfortably sharing a congregation with you, then reader be aware. At least question the destination in which the vehicle is headed. Check and confirm if the road signs indicate that it is the highway of holiness, if not it is time you should alight and look for the right vehicle to take you there.

Secondly wicked fools will not go about on it, these are the words of Isiah. Now who is the wicked fool. Proverbs 13: 19 " A longing fulfilled is sweet to the soul, but fools detest turning from evil. " Essentially a fool is he who detests the gospel of christ Jesus and his servant John the Baptist. Repent and turn away from your evil, live a separate, righteous and holy life. Now if in this vehicle, there are those who are still in sexual immorality, in deception, slander, adultery, idolatry, selfish ambitions, drunkenness and name them, may be you should be worried. If your church is housing homosexuals, corrupt people, prostitutes, witches and all sorts of evil, it is not on this highway. I am not saying, that the people are not sinners, everybody has fallen short of the glory of God according to Romans 3:23 "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" but in the event where the element of recognizing sin, confessing that is sin, repenting and the eventual turning away from our evil deeds is what makes the difference.
Also on this highway, no lion will be there, nor the ferocious beast. This goes to the shepherds, they are entrusted in guiding the sheep of Christ towards the right direction. Now the ferocious beast is what we are experiencing in end times, those who turn against the sheep and lead them astray, they turn against their sheep and rob them of their property and salvation. Talk about the many cases where the shepherd (pastor) has turned against the faithfulness for sexual immorality, recent a senior church bishop was found dead on a woman's bed. the panda mbegus, the false prophets are not found on this highway. Recently a senior member of a church has accused the church of devil worship and the shepherds indulging in homosexuality. Another pastor (father) quit his calling and confessed having slept with nuns and sisters for fifteen years of God's service without any concerns from the church leadership. Does such like issues arise in your church, is your pastor blamed for some of the above allegations, sexual immorality, financial impropriety, devil worship or homosexuality, corruption and deception. it is time you should realize that Christ is about to come and your salvation is your sole responsibility.
Now if you want to know that it is the right church, Isiah says, only the redeemed will walk there. Those who worship God in spirit, those who have turned away from their evil past. Those who love Christ through obeying his commands. The redeemed of God. The pure in heart that Jesus describes in Mathews 5:8. those who will walk on this highway, and those who eventually will see God. As you contemplate of the position of your church, whether it is on the right road or the wrong road, remember also Mathew 7: 13

Joel Osteen's Fellowship, Sorry I have to disappoint you

Early this week, news reaching my desk was that the popular American motivational speaker Joel Osteen's church had been broken into. The cash vaults were dismantled and Dollars worth 600,000 made away with. Speculators and keen observers started doing calculations of how much this church makes in a single year. In a year's time assuming the stolen cash was a single day's tithes and offerings collection, a single years revenue from this lakewood church totals $32,000,000. that is an equivalent to 2.6 billion kenyan shillings. That is a good amount of money, that most of us can do anything to put our hands on, isn't it?
Now, you my audience are wondering what the hell am I talking about this American preacher. Did you ask yourself why I reffered to him as a motivational speaker and not a servant of God. I have been following keenly on the unfolding events that are associated with Christianity around the world both for the developed and the developing societies. Things are happening so fast, innovation is the order of the day and something tells me the church too, is innovating. I know am stepping on your toes, Joel Osteen, Joyce Meryer and Teddy Jakes are some of your favorite clergies. Am sorry today we will have to go down to the good book. The bible. Today my calling is to show you the light, because I believe, I am the bride(Church) and christ is the bridegroom and he said, in mathews 5 :14 that we are the light of the world, oooh yes, today let my light shine upon you.
I respect Joel Osteen, he is a humble and nice guy. Personally I admire his personality. He has done a great job encouraging masses of people including you and me, that actually, our faith in God will always bear fruits. that is for the time being while we still in this defiled world. However, there's much to a christian and a believer in christ. God promises in jeremiah 29:11' for I know, the plans I have for you, declares the lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future'.
That is very true Joel, the lord will reward his people, mark my words 'his people'. However I watched his interview on live television, while Joel says he does not rebuke sin in his church. That everybody is at liberty to act according to his concious. He reminds me what paul had to say about the preachers of the prosperity gospel, 2 timothy 4: 3 for the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.
Today I will not tell you what you want to hear. I will tell you the truth, that paul saw it coming, he saw people like Joel Osteens, Joyce Meryers and teddy jakes and the Kenyan panda mbegus coming. Lakewood church has got the greatest gathering in the America. Why is that so, paul says in 2 timothy 4:3 they will gather around them a great number, why the great number? because the great number is for those who do not want to hear what the lord has for them, they want to hear what the preacher has to promise them. so where are they headed to, Jesus told them in Mathews 7: 13 "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.
At this point, you understand why Joel Osteen has got the greatest following, his road is wide, he does not rebuke sin, he does not tell his sheep to repent and pursue a righteous and holy life, he does not tell them to be separate and come out of the world and live a holy separated life that is acceptable to the father. joel Osteen does not rebuke homo sexuality, he does not rebuke lust, he does not rebuke selfish ambitions, he does not rebuke Idolatry that comes about the chasing of money. His, is a church for the sinner and the righteous, the church for those who want financial rewards from above and not the anointing of the holy spirit.
Sadly, because a great deal of Americans are consuming the bitters waters from the alters of Lakewood church, the third world in our ignorance have followed suit. It is with deep regret to tell you that Joel Osteen does not justify his perspective. he uses human understanding and popular opinion. So if this is the case, how comes he is promising you material blessing in the name of the lord and yet he does not preach God's perspective to mankind. I know I have disappointed you, for I have not spoken what you expect me to speak, I know you will hate me from today hence forth but am sorry this is why Jesus came, Mathew 10:37 For I have come to turn" a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law".

Odinga might Be right

While I was away the deputy president flew to the Netherlands, and while I was away again Raila Odinga lamented the military for being partisan and trying to perpetuate status qua. I cannot ascertain the truth behind Odinga's allegation because am an alien in the corridors of power, am a distant spectator who only can see the smoke and sometimes not even see the fire. But being alive in the political arena, I know Odinga is the man who will speak whenever he is pressed. some may think, he is loosing his mind, but I guess it was time to spill the beans.
I read a post yesterday on the social media, that Odinga should forget about the presidency since he has lashed at the army. Maybe that is very true, but can the intensity of his allegation really affirm the truth of this matter. Might our military been part of this conspiracy, to frustrate Kenya's democratic course? that might be true, but it might not also be true, because as I said earlier, am an alien in the corridors of power.
Again, the national intelligence security have resolved to pursue Odinga, am not sure why? Do they want to establish the truth behind his allegations or do they want to victimise the man for whatever reason. what I also do not understand, is the legality of his allegations and its implications to the independence of the bills of rights. The membranes that house our bills of rights are semi porous, This gives the government the right to confiscate these freedoms, if we put them in the wrong use.
But what define the 'wrong use' is the bone of contention. Freedom of expression, where is the ceiling of this freedom? Is it the supremacy of the government? the under dealings of the government? The character of the president and his presidency? Does the tenets of accountability and transparency exclude the mega government projects like the standard gauge railway? Is our military so immune to public criticism so that any allegations levelled against the military attracts sanction and arrest warrants?
A government that is inducing fear in its citizenry, is not pegged on the principles of democracy. If tribal mobilizations are what define our politics, and if further this is undermining the progress of our nationality, the government should be the remedy. You don't heal the tribal wounds by rewarding loyal tribes and alienating those with dissenting views. You don't unite a nation by victimizing the opposition. You don't preach democracy while dissent cannot be tolerated in your administration.
Something is surely cooking in our government, and we must stand on our feet and proclaim democracy. We must quench our thirsty of the so much questions unanswered on the standard gauge railway. We must establish the truth behind Odinga's allegation against the military. We must also question the president's word on how he can unite this nation minus skewed public appointments. Am just a Kenyan and not a politician.

What Plans do you have for 2014? Here are suggestions

For the previous week since the advent of the new year, I have read so much on what people expect out of this year. Some are looking ahead with pessimism and hopelessness while the majority believe it is the year of breakthrough and great favour. The mixed reaction as i understand can explain the different paths we have come as individuals and whether our former plans materialised. However, it is often said that those who don't plan are otherwise planning to fail. Whether our previous resolutions materialised or not, that is not enough for us not to plan for the future. The mystics of tomorrow favour those who plan for them.
I personally believe 2014 like never before is going to be a year of breakthrough and favour in all the aspects of my life. The optimism that has defined my attitude will propel me to heights that people might not believe. Let me not pretend to have already lived in the future, but for the record, i want to believe in myself, my ability and aptitude. Just to share on the guidelines i used when coming up with my new years resolutions, here are some of what I thought could enable me penetrate through this year prosperously;
1. Time is of the essence, every second counts. Remember it is money, you waste time, you are equally wasting money.
2. Feed your mind an apple, it will produce juice, but feed it poison it will die. What your mind consumes and values will determine the direction of your initiatives. Consume knowledge that is beneficial and that can create utility, stop pursuing inconsequential, obsolete and destructive information it will render you irrelevant.
3. Only action changes reality, thinking doesn't. Believe in acting, because without actions, your noble and powerful ideas won't materialize.
4. Discipline is paramount. The difference between your resolutions and there destiny is discipline. Do you walk your talk? Do you stick to your timetable? Are you honest to yourself?
5. With great power, comes a great responsibility. information is power, consolidate it in the right manner. Peg your responsibilities in closing up of societal gaps, that will go along way to surpass your personal aspirations
6. Responsibility gravitates on those that can shoulder them. Do not be afraid of responsibility, while it comes to you always believe that you have the capability to carry them out. Be a risk taker and have the courage even to pursue unfamiliar territories.
7. Your Mind is your greatest asset. Remember on a daily basis we utilize only 10% of our mental capacity, at the death end, 90% of our useful self is wasted in the grave. Make the difference, increase this % to 20, then to 50%, Things for you will never be the same again.
8. Remember, it is the information Era. Only information, will keep you relevant, it is high time you should love reading, watching news, attending seminars and conferences. This will make you stand out from the crowd.
9. Change is a double edged sword, it is no longer those who adapt that survive, it is those who pursue change that survive. Change no longer changes people, it destroys people.
10. Own your destiny. Only yourself will be answerable to the father on the day of judgement and only yourself will be answerable to your destiny. Learn to stand alone and define the course of your life. seek for advice, make your decisions.
That said and done, i believe all of us will be useful components of the society, we shall transform this nation into a desired Utopia and going forward the generations to come will live in a better world than ours. Shalom
